UPDATE ON THE RECENT ARRESTS AND COURT APPEARANCE OF 9 OFFICIALS FROM THE NORTHERN CAPE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH ON CHARGES RELATING TO ALLEGED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT PROCUREMENT.
The Northern Cape Health MEC, Mr Maruping Lekwene has noted the court proceedings involving our 9 officials implicated on the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) procurement valued at R16 million.
The Department is currently looking into the matter and will provide a way forward after all internal processes have been finalised, in line with relevant legislation. A comprehensive media statement will be issued in due course, to appraise the public on our position going forward.
