The Oncology Department at the Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital held their annual Breast Cancer Awareness event in honour Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The program was attended by Acting head of Department, Dr Kantani, CEO of Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital, Dr Olivier with the dignified guests being cancer survivors who bravely shared their testimonies. October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it aims to spread awareness on one of the most prevalent cancers among women in South Africa. Head of Oncology at Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospital, Dr Osei-Fofie urged everyone to do regular breast examinations and present themselves or tests and mammograms if they notice any irregularities in order to treat breast cancer early. He added that early detection of breast cancer can save lives.
